"FASHION IS MY PROFESSION" FORUM
On October 27-29, 2017 International Forum "Fashion is my profession" was held in Minsk for the second time.
Second International Forum “Fashion is my profession”, organized by the PR and communications agency "Open Podium" with the support of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus and the Embassy of the Republic of Italy became not only educational, but also a communication platform for those who are beginning their career in fashion business. During three days authoritative figures of fashion-industry gave lectures, conducted workshops, they shared their experience.
The invited speakers were Giorgia Cantarini (journalist VOGUE Italia), Nikolai Yartsev (director of the Russian project "CPM Exhibition"), Anastasia Kotova (Carlin Creative Trend Bureau), Nadezhda Zhuravleva (Fashion Faculty (Russia), Bogban Enica, Fashion Law (Canada) , the designer brand "Fabryan" and the designers of the brand «LONGSHAW WARD» (United Kingdom), Matteo Bardi (Italy), Tatiana Medovnikova (Russia), Marcellous Jones (fashion critic, producer, PhD (France). Without exception, the experts emphasized the fact that over the last decade fashion world has mostly gone into digital, working conditions have changed in this sphere – professional can not leave it without taking into consideration. The topics for discussion were the basics of doing business in modern conditions; the development of strategy of building own brand, especially within the European market, the methods of copyright protection. These issues are important for not only designers, but also for stylists, photographers, journalists and models.
In addition to getting practical advice and new knowledge on the "Business Contacts Exchange" (Belarusian Fund for Financial Support of Entrepreneurs), the forum participants had the opportunity to expand the list of business partners or to present their idea and commercial concept. For example, the designer of AMBERLOOK Yuna Yushmanova competently took advantage of the chance to establish contacts and, a month later with Giorgia Cantarini’s help, the clothes of the young brand appeared on the pages of ELLE TBILISI, ELLE AMERICANS, NNS MAGAZINE. And just a few days ago her article about the designer was published in the most progressive edition about the fashion of VOGUE Italia.
Despite the availability of fashion, huge arrays of visual content and fashionable criticism, it is difficult to find necessary comments of competent industry insiders among the information noise. Social media can not completely replace special education, and live communication with practitioners can not be changed for webinars and online correspondence. Therefore, such educational programs as the forum "Fashion is my profession", undoubtedly, are important events in the professional calendar of fashion figures.
Next time the international forum "Fashion is my profession" will be held in the autumn of 2018!
